Kaecilius is a character appearing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), portrayed by Mads Mikkelsen.
He is a former Master of the Mystic Arts who becomes disillusioned with the Ancient One's teachings and methods, particularly her use of power from the Dark Dimension. Driven by a desire to transcend death and achieve eternal life, Kaecilius becomes a rogue sorcerer.
He leads a group of zealots in a mission to bring Dormammu to Earth, believing that the Dark Dimension holds the key to true immortality. His actions directly oppose Doctor Strange and the other Masters of the Mystic Arts.
Kaecilius makes his first appearance in the 2016 movie *Doctor Strange*.
